This is a divine pair of antique French Cornely lace curtains dating about 1900.
The textile is a very fine cotton muslin in a lovely antique cream. Each curtain has a flower and tendril border to both sides. Within the borders are flower sprigs. The design is worked in a fine chain stitch.
The sides of the curtains are formed by the selvedge of the muslin. There are deep hems to the bottoms. The tops are also hemmed.
The curtains have been laundered. A few marks remain and there are some areas where the chain stitch has gone (please see photos). These characteristics of age are minor and do not draw the eye.
Each curtain measures :- 210 cm (6 ft 10.6 inch) long x 67 cm (2 ft 2.3 inches) wide.
A divine delicate pair of French Cornely lace curtains to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
Please note that the clips & tie backs we have used to display the curtains are not included.
