Kenneth Hill No.1383 Classical Guitar 1999

Includes Hard Case

Description

About This Item

  • We are pleased to offer a 1999 classical guitar crafted by Kenneth Hill, a renowned American guitarist and luthier.

In the mid-1970s, Kenneth Hill was active as a performer in Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz, California, while simultaneously building guitars. Over a span of five years, he produced approximately 100 instruments. In response to growing demand from players, he established the Hill Guitar Company in 1996.

Today, newly built Hill guitars typically bear serial numbers in the 4000s. This particular instrument, No.1383, was made over 25 years ago and is believed to be an early post-establishment piece from the Hill workshop.

Judging from the grain patterns inside and out, this guitar appears to be made of all-solid wood. It offers a highly responsive feel—each nuance of the fingertips is faithfully translated into sound. The tone is clear and cohesive, with excellent projection and no muddiness.

  • This description was created with translation assistance.

Notes

  • The area below the bridge appears to be slightly bulging, while the region around the soundhole seems to be sunken (please refer to the posted photos).
  • There is a slight gap between the bridge and the body (please refer to the posted photos).
  • A strap pin has been added after the original build.
  • There appears to be a slight gap at the body end seam (please refer to the posted photos).
