Published in conjunction with an exhibit at the National Gallery of Art, this book celebrates the diversity of the collaborative projects undertaken by GRAPHICSTUDIO. Donald Saff, founder and director of GRAPHICSTUDIO for much of its history, brought together artists like Dine, Shapiro, Mapplethorpe, Rauschenberg, and Close with professional printers and other technicians to produce sculptures, prints, and mixed media editions. The authors provide a history of the studio and discuss both individual editions and the technical prowess required to execute them. This catalog is an excellent history of an important enterprise.
