Rust and Rot ~ Purveyors of wonderful things.
Welcome to the sale of this useful vintage engineers light.
Made by the London company Mek-Elek this work light would date from the late 1930's or 40's. This example is wall mounted with two adjustable arms and a pivot head with enamel shade. This lamp was in poor condition so has been fully dismantled and each section stripped of paint and rust and burnished. The lamp has then been reassembled including greasing the hinges and given a coat of clear lacquer. It has been rewired with a new chromed switched BC bulb holder and three meters of three core black fabric cable and a new plug. The shade was in good condition without dents or chips and has cleaned up like new. All in all a great example of an iconic work light that is ready to fix to your wall and plug in.
In good condition commensurate with its age and use. Lamp has been restored and rewired. Please have a good look at the photographs as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions.
The lamp measures (in cm) shade is 25 wide, arms are each 40 long, bracket is 20 tall.
