Crystal Champagne Ice Bucket '1997 Ryder Cup Champion'

I don't know anything about this champagne ice bucket (who made it, who it was made for, etc.), other than it is crystal and has metal handles (possibly silver-plated as they appear ever so slightly tarnished - but not sure!). Etched with '1997 Ryder Cup Champion' on the front, along with a laurel wreath with the letters 'C N C' inside.

There are two chips - one approx 1 3/8" long touching the back lip, and a very tiny one on the front lip (see photos).

The diameter of the mouth is approx 7 1/4", and the height of the bucket is approx 8 3/4".
