Vintage Movado Tempomatic 32mm 14K Gold Case Automatic Watch This listing is for a vintage 14K gold Movado Tempomatic automatic wristwatch from the early 1950s, featuring a classic 32mm case diameter that reflects Movado’s refined mid-century proportions. The watch has a warm, naturally aged champagne dial with raised gold Arabic numerals and triangular markers, paired with gold-tone hands and a central sweep seconds hand. The solid 14K gold case top shows the elegant lines characteristic of Movado’s early automatic designs, complete with tapered lugs and a domed acrylic crystal. The stainless-steel back is engraved “Father’s Day 1951,” indicating the watch was a presentation piece and tying it to the correct production era. The watch is currently fitted with a two-tone vintage expansion bracelet, likely added later in its life.
The movement winds and runs, although accuracy and long-term reliability are not guaranteed without a full service. The dial exhibits significant age patina, spotting, and discoloration from decades of use, giving it the untouched vintage character many collectors appreciate. The acrylic crystal shows visible scratches and internal haze. The 14K gold case displays scratches, dings, and wear at the lugs, consistent with a well-used but unpolished vintage piece. The bracelet shows pronounced wear and plating loss. The crown functions properly for winding and setting.
As a solid-gold Movado Tempomatic with original 1951 engraving and a desirable 32mm case size, this watch represents a collectible example of Movado’s early automatic engineering, valued today for its historical charm, thin profile, and hand-finished Swiss construction. Watch will fit up to a 7.5" wrist. Watch pictured is the watch you will receive. No box or papers
