Antique Edwardian Scottish Oak smokers cabinet with presentation plaque to Dr Hugh Fergus Watson.

Brass plaque which is dated1918 and presented by Perth Railway Ambulance Class.

The cabinet has a fret work frieze on the top making the space ideal to be used as a shelf.

It has two gazed doors on the front with paneling and a drop handle. Escutcheon and lock although no key. The left door has a good inside catch to keep in closed. Each door has a brass pipe holder which holds 3 pipes.

Inside, it has 4 drawers with Art Nouveau brass handles. A space for a tobacco jar ( not included) and a space underneath for storage.

It is solid and sturdy although it does have some age related surface scratches in places. It has brass mirror plates for hanging on the wall or can stand freely.

The owner has a dark history which is connected to the Suffragette Hunger Strikes and Cat and Mouse Act 1913. I will let you do your own research.

46cm high x 41cm wide x 20cm deep.
