About painter:
Francis Morton Johnson was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on May 23, 1878, and like many young American artists of that time, he left the United States to continue his artistic training in Paris at the Académie Julian under the direction of Jean-Paul Laurens. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne between 1907 and 1908, and also every year between 1908 and 1914 at the Salon des Indépendants. In the USA, he will exhibit at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
