Gillette 1948 Aristocrat Safety Razor TTO

 This great razor is in Very Good Mechanical Condition. The TTO knob works as well as the day it left the factory, the doors open smoothly and close tightly to hold the blade in place. The gold plating has small amount of vintage Ware, the head is plated in nickle and looks great.   

 

 Some consider this the Gold Standard of DE shavers. These razors are well built and give wonderful shaves. The size and weight of these razors provide great balance and makes shaving a pleasure. HISTORY:

Spanning approximately 70 years, the Aristocrat name plate was the longest running of the Gillette line of DE razors, and in my opinion, was their flagship razor. True, more upscale and pricier sets were made, but only for short periods of time, while the Aristocrat enjoyed fairly steady production until a decade long break from 1951 to 1961. This appears to have been a very popular razor in its time.
