Dry, New England humor: Philbrook Paine was an author and journalist -- a regular columnist for the New Hampshire Sunday News, and a regular contributor to Yankee, Reader's Digest, Yachting Magazine, and New Hampshire Profiles. Larry Lurin, whose whimsical illustrations enhance the text, was a well known mid-century artist and book designer.
