Vintage ¾ Hungarian Violin – Flamed Maple – c.1960 – Made in Hungary

A beautifully made vintage ¾-size Hungarian violin dating from around the 1950s–1960s. The label inside reads “Made in Hungary” with handwritten serial number A511567, typical of the better Hungarian workshop production of that era.

This violin features a finely flamed two-piece maple back, matching ribs and neck, and a tight-grained spruce top with elegant f-holes. The amber-brown varnish has a rich, lightly shaded finish that shows the flame beautifully. The purfling is fully inlaid, and the scroll is neatly hand-carved — clear signs of traditional craftsmanship.

It is in excellent cosmetic and structural condition, with no cracks or repairs visible. Currently it has no tailpiece, bridge or strings fitted, so it’s ready for setup to the buyer’s preference. Once adjusted and strung, these Hungarian violins are known for their warm, clear tone and good projection, making them excellent quality instruments for advancing young players.
