Sometime copy of a Lynton and Lynmouth Survey Map. Printed on conjoined paper ,and laid down on a larger stiffer paper sheet giving a margin.In the top left of the conjoined paper copy is an oval stamp "AUG1841 Tithe " . In the margin, outwith the copy , is "TITHE MAP 1840 "Bottom left in the copy is "Scale of two chains to the inch "Some hand colour has been added -Roads Sea Hills etc Locations are very detailed and specifically referred by Name ( e g Rev Thos Roe`s House ) or numerically. Streets are named , as are various features ( orchard , meadow etc )Bottom left in the copy reads "This map I am confident will bear the most examination on the ground. No pains have been spared to prove by survey abd examination every part however trifling " Signed,but partly illegible signature Quite creased,and very slighly spotted , but sound overall .Difficult to scan ,but tolerably legible in reality
