This is a small sparrow like bird on a tree stump with a multi color & gloss glaze.

His designs are known for their beautiful mid century modern style and superb quality, and are highly sought after by collectors. He established Howard Pierce Ceramics in the 1930s and continued producing until his death in 1994.
