Static Security Bead Removal (REQUIRED prior to installing):
The bead is located on the side near the ribbon cable plug. With a soldering iron at about 680F (360C) brush away, while applying almost no pressure downwards, from the laser and the bead should come off and you should see separation between three contact points. Use flux if you have some if it isn't melting well and be careful not to bump the little resistor next to it with the soldering iron. See our before and after photos of how it is supposed to look.
Laser will work in all the following PS2 Slim models listed below. Your model can be any combination of the prefixes below, for example SCPH-70001 is compatible because the first 3 numeric digits are listed below. The slimline series is only about 1 inch thick and to load a disc, the cover pops up like a car hood (versus the OG PS2 Fat that is over 3 inches thick and has a disc tray that ejects).

This PVR-802W lens is compatible with SLIM PS2 versions.
Replacing the Laser Lens can fix a variety of PS2 problems:
- Plays DVD based discs but not CD
- Plays CD based but not DVD
- Rhythmic clicking and clunking sounds often followed by the display freezing and choppy sound
- The console displays the error - Disc Read Error
- The console displays the error - No Data
- The console displays the error - Please insert PS2 format disc (red screen)
THIS WILL NOT REPLACE the lens on a FAT PS2!
