Description

A really lovely antique or vintage wooden drinking flask, traditionally used by shepherds for wine or palinka (fruit-based spirits). The carving depicts grapes and plums.

I suspect it comes from Romania, but it may be Hungarian or Ukrainian.

It measures 19cm tall, 14cm wide, and 8cm deep.

An absolutely fantastic piece of authentic folk-art, and antiques of this type are becoming much sought after.

Overall good condition, with three historic worm holes, which have been re-treated as a precaution.
