Up for your consideration is a stunning Inuit stone polar bear by Mark Parkinson. This piece was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This piece had been displayed in my fishing cottage for many years. Made of a heavy green stone this piece must weigh 30 pounds. It measures 11 inches tall by 6 inches wide. Displays beautifully. This vintage Inuit Eskimo art piece, a polar bear stone carving by artist Mark Parkinson (1927-2010), showcases the rich cultural heritage of Canadian Aboriginal tribes. Handmade in Canada, this unique piece reflects the traditional craftsmanship and artistic style of the Inuit people. With provenance and tribal affiliation available, this collectible item offers a direct connection to the art and history of the Canadian Arctic.
