This is a lovely Madonna and child hand carved santos statue. Exact date unknown but certainly dates from the 19th century or possibly older. Lovely handcarved and retains some paint including gold colored accents.
Does show various signs of wear. Please inspect all photos as they are also part of description. Missing left arm, there’s some wear on virgins head including a small hole where a crown possibly hung at some point. Chips and rubs throughout. Antique well loved condition, shows to have been used and possibly displayed at a home or church altar at some point. Most likely Central European, possibly French.
Measures approx 7.5 inches tall by 3 inches wide base.
