Joseph Robertson translates the inscription, which is found on a large marble stele in Athens, and is notable for combining mythological events with more verifiable historical ones.
Robertson's edition was notable for its detailed commentary and for the appended dissertation in which he defended the authenticity and historical value of the chronicle.

Rebacked in cloth, retaining the original paper covered boards. Bumping to back strip head and tail, significant handling marks to exterior, small losses to board tails. Label to back strip tail, handwritten title to back strip head. Library bookplates to front and rear pastedown. Lacking front free endpaper and half title. Library ink stamp and blind stamp to title page, with blind stamp to final leaf, and one further ink stamp to a text leaf. Pages age toned, with handling marks throughout, and minor closed tears to leaf perimeters. Lacking folding plate.
