This original woodblock print is from a series of prints which come together in a 3 print set. It is a boat trip of Court Ladies in "Tokugawa Era". They are enjoying the scenery and a boat excursion. This is the first print on the left side. I do not have the other two prints but this print alone is beautiful in itself showing the lovely garden scene.
I have collected Woodblock Prints from Japan for many years and decided to downsize and sell some of my collection. I purchased all my woodblocks at reliable auction houses, estate sales of serious collectors, or from Japanese dealers who specialized in Woodblock Prints. I will always state whether the woodblock is an ORIGINAL or a Reprint. Many times, reprints are very good and are a good purchase if the publisher is legitimate and used woodblocks for repainting.
