It hasn't been tested, but appearance and tensile strength suggests it is either 304 or 316 grade. It is non-magnetic and has a bright silver polished surfaces. There are some surface marks due to storage conditions and initial winding, but most of these might be polished out if desired. It has high tensile strength and would be suitable for tying structural timber or other members together or where packaging required strong external banding.
Uses also might include edge finishing to building works, a central plate in a small flitch beam, roof ties or straps, specific detailing to enhance and strengthen architectural details or to the structure of boats or vehicles etc. Holes could be drilled to match exact fixing locations.
In terms of using the banding as a finishing detail, it probably would not be suitable for very high-grade projects due to the imperfections but nevertheless, if polished, might be acceptable in limited lengths.
