Up for sale is a fantastic personal letter from British biographer, editor, and literary critic, C.R. Cammell.
Ap. 12 ’60
Rear Admiral’s Office, Peterhead
Dear Blumenfeld,
I am consumed with anxiety over the life of my friend Charles Tindal, as the kind of tumor his operation disclosed is surely one of the kind of [cancerous?] condition of the spine. Though I am in close touch with Tindal’s wife, we have had no message from Charles himself by written hand or eye. Can you enlighten me? If he does die by God I hope those who are responsible will be dragged into the light of day as possible slanderers – and I will not hesitate in applying troops!
Yours ever,
[Signed] C. R. Cammell
