Kidd kraddick was the head DJ at the Dallas area KISSFM 106.1 radio station. He raised money annually to take sick children and their families to Disney World in Orlando annually-where all services had to be by donation or volunteer. The airlines would donate flights, flight attendants, nurses, other medical professionals, etc all donated their time. Hotels and meals were donated and Disney provided free tickets for all family members. Kidd raised millions of dollars over the years. This book was one of money raising events. In the late 1990’s Kidd would mad]ke fun of the silliness of the daytime Soap Opera’s claiming he could write one so easy. He started writing segments I believe weekly which ended up being printed as this book with all profits to go towards “”Kidd’s Kids”
My husband at the time used to joke about how much Kidd talked about his wife and daughter and he would joke about Kellie, the co-host being the moral soul of the show. I went to the original release of the book at a local bookstore in Dallas and was one of the first ten people in line to get the book. Kidd and Kellie decided to write messages to my husband when they autographed the book for me so the notes were directed at my husband. Gail lightfoot was the local traffic spokesman at the time who called in traffic reports but also participated in the daily conversation and contests they had. Tara worked at the station but wasn’t one of the DJ’s. The only person we missed was Bert who was back at the radio station.
This was the best radio station around and sadly Kidd passed away years ago unexpectedly.
