Large (18 inches by 24 inches), very heavy black leather front and back covers for "Organizational and Functional Charts" at the San Antonio Depot, Brigadier General J.A. Porter Commanding. The writing is hand-drawn/etched into the leather and includes a colored 5-pointed Texas star beneath "San Antonio Depot." The two leather covers are bound together with thick white rope. NONE OF THE MAPS OR CHARTS ARE PRESENT. This dates to the World War II period, specifically 1943 when Brigadier General John A. Porter was commander of the San Antonio Depot (quartermaster depot, Fort Sam Houston). This is a really neat, unique item that would make a great display piece! Please see all of the images above for condition. Thanks for looking!
