Cyrus Crew Tetbury Fusee Pocket Watch in Sterling Silver Case for Parts or Restoration

 

Made by Cyrus Crew & Jewelers, Union Hill (England) circa 1853-1854 based on case hallmarks.

 

Serial number 10113

 

NOT RUNNING - Broken and detached fusee chain. Full plate fusee verge, plain three-arm balance, engraved balance cock.

 

Case hallmarks indicate sterling silver (lion passant), London, 1853 (note that one of the silvermaker marks said to be used for 1853 is not stamped in the case). 

Also stamped with serial number 10113 and J.T. (probably sponsor mark for James Thickbroom).  The back of the brass movement cover is stamped JB 

 

Weight:  approximately 3.4 oz. (96.4 grams)(not packaged for shipping)

 

Dimensions (approx.): 

1.90 in. (48.3 mm) outside diameter without crown

0.72 in. (18.3 mm) thickness at thickest point

 

Condition:  Not running.  Broken and detached fusee chain.  Dial and hands look good.  Crystal fair with one small but noticeable chip on the edge at the 4:00 o’clock position.  Case, bow, stem and ball are good to very good with expected wear consistent with its age (see photos).
