Welcome to the sale of this beautiful rustic pot.

Originating from Gascony in France these antique earthenware pots were used to store confit and other products preserved in oil. They are half glazed as they were buried halfway up in the cellars of houses to keep their contents cold. This is the type of pot that Van Gough painted his sunflowers sitting in.

This particular pot is a medium size at 11" tall and is in superb condition having retained all of its glaze.  Many of these pots have major damage or have lost most of their glaze, I would say this is one of the better ones.  Please have a good look at the photographs as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions. I also have other similar confit pots listed. This pot does have a small hole drilled in its base. 

The pot measures (in cm) 27.5 tall, 26 wide (inc handles) and 21 deep.  It weighs 2.7kg

 We offer free delivery on many of our items, however delivery shown is for the UK mainland only. There will be a surcharge for some addresses in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and the Highlands and islands of Scotland. You are more than welcome to collect or I can deliver locally if needed.
