Based on the red sunburst maker’s mark on the underside of the plate, this Japanese tea set is made around the Taisho (1912–1926) period as export porcelain.

The deep cobalt blue glaze combined with intricate gold detailing suggests a Taisho-era Kutani or Satsuma influence, as both styles emphasized luxurious hand-painted decoration.
The hand-painted cartouches feature scenes of Japanese landscapes, traditional figures, and poetic calligraphy, reflecting the Yamato-e (classical Japanese painting) tradition.
