Gold-plated pieces are created by bonding an extremely thin layer of gold over a base material such as copper or brass.  Gold content is usually less than 1%.  Sometimes the item may be stamped "925" that means the gold is layered over silver.  This is sometimes called Vermeil.

As can be seen in the above photos, these are very striking gold-plated clasps with the appearance of black between the plain gold metal and twisted metal.  The ring measures 14mm with a 18mm toggle.  Two small loops at both parts measure about 4mm.  There is also a knob of gold at both ends of the toggle.

Price is for one clasp.
