Large antique or vintage fire-gilded silver gulyaka (gül-yaka, meaning "flower for the collar") collar button or pendant from the Turkmen Yomut or Yomud tribe, with repoussé and inlaid stones and colored glass. Each petal of the flower is embossed with Arabic script meaning "Allah."
As it is not particularly heavy, this piece could be worn as a huge statement pendant necklace: the shank has a ring which accommodates a chain or cord. This beautiful button could also be hung on the wall as striking accent decor or part of an eclectic gallery wall.
4.75 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep (measurements approximate).
This piece is in good antique condition. There are a couple of stones missing and some cracked, as is expected with antique jewelry that has seen possibly over a century of use. There are some scratches on the back of the piece. Please see the photos.
