HELLO, WELCOME TO OUR STORE.

THIS LISTING IS FOR A ANTIQUE 1800s R. COCHRAN & CO SCOTLAND V.P ANEMONE TRANSFERWARE PLATE PLATTER

A beautiful and very rare Robert Cochran & Co of Scotland ironstone transfer plate / meat plate.
The plate features blue floral patterning called 'Anemone'. The V.P is the impress mark of Verreville Pottery. The site started in 1771 on the north bank of the River Clyde in the village of Finnieston, near Glasgow, and was originally a glassworks.
R.C & Co was the mark for Robert Cochran & Co - from 1845 having started as a part-owner, Robert Cochran and his two subsequent generations ran the pottery until its closure in 1918. Given the construction style and age related crazing of this example it is safe to assume a production date of around 1850 - 1880.

In great antique condition overall with crazing throughout and signs of age - most notable is a very small deeper craze line to the underside (see photos)

Measures: 31.5cm long, 23cm wide.
