Bobby Hutcherson's 1968 album, Total Eclipse, was the
vibraphonist's first recording to feature saxophonist Harold Land, who
would become a key collaborator for years. Rounding out the band were
pianist Chick Corea, bassist Reggie Johnson and drummer Joe Chambers on
this impassioned post-bop set. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Series is
produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog
master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI and packaged in a deluxe
gatefold tip-on jacket.
