I arrived in NY in 1979 to attend the Gemological Institute and then went to work as a Goldsmith at David Webb.
I was hired a couple years later to work as Robert Lee Morris's first assistant.
Together we made the Runway Jewelry for Kansai Yamomoto, and then Calvin Klein's epic runway show . After working to create runway jewelry for RLM, I went out on my own.
Creating the runway jewelry for all of Seventh Ave was a dream come true in the glamorous 1980's.
I worked with Oscar de la Renta , Bill Blass, Geoffrey Beene , Bob Mackie, Marc Jacobs and on and on.
My Jewelry was sold at Saks , Neimans and Bergdorfs.
What happened you ask?
In 1989 there was a huge backlash to the go go glamour of the 80's and Jill Sander, Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein turned to a new , clean way of dressing called "Minimalism".
All the department stores stopped selling the bold costume jewelry I made, and I went out of business.
