MDISC Lifetime Archival Technology

Unlike conventional optical media that relies on traditional organic dyes, MDISC uses a patented rock-like recording layer in which data is physically engraved during recording. The construction also incorporates titanium layers for additional durability.

Independent ISO/IEC 10995 testing cited for MDISC demonstrated an expected lifespan measured in centuries under proper storage conditions, making the format suitable for long-term preservation of important digital assets.

High-Capacity BDXL Format

With 100GB capacity on a single disc, BDXL reduces the number of discs required for large archives. A BD-XL compatible Blu-ray writer is required for recording.

Inkjet Printable Surface

The printable surface provides a 40–118mm print area for compatible direct-to-disc inkjet printers.

Suitable for custom text, graphics and organised archive identification without adhesive labels.
