Here we have a magnificent WMF antique Art Nouveau Silver Plated Britannia metal very large lidded Tankard, a spectacular statement piece.

It has a 3 dimensional classic Art Nouveau design featuring cherubs playing musical instruments and nude semi-draped maidens with a polished silver plated finish.

Tankard stands on four racket feet form cast with Grapes.

The domed Tankard Hinged cover is surrounded with large Putto (Cherub) figure holding a goblet with a wonderful intricate mandolin on his lap.

The Handle is very substantial and formed from a angular vine.

The workmanship and quality of this tankard is superb and the skill that must of gone into the production of the piece is staggering, it’s truly a work of art.

It’s a large and impressive piece from WMF with a hight 42cm and weight of 4.05 kilo, it’s simply magnificent.

Displays beautifully.

Condition

The Condition is wonderful, silver plate is bright and polished, very little silver loss to the main tankard exterior, ( if any ) some on the underside of the feet ( contact surface area it will have some loss) 

No breakages, dents, dints or nasty scratches, amazing condition.

The lid and hinge are strong and true, base is perfectly straight with no wobbles.

The underside of the base does have C.H.E & 1911 very lightly engraved, 

This Tankard is as good an example as you can get.

The Tankard is over 120 years old and looks amazing with no condition issue whatsoever.
