Beautiful & Rare Irish Solid Sterling Silver Heavy Sugar Tongs 

Fully Hallmarked Dublin / Ireland 1808 ( No Duty Mark and Crowned Harp )

Here we have a rare and very beautiful fine pair of large heavy Irish Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs, hallmarked, Dublin latest1806 

Beautifully decorated with gorgeous fine bright cut engraving, diamond edging , flora and elbow cartouche, masterful workmanship at its best.

The Hallmarks are stamped on the inside of the tongs, on the elbow, clear and readable.

They have been dated due to No duty mark as the duty mark started 1806. 

This pair of tongs does has have an engraving on the elbow cartouche, it reads         ‘St Mary’s. Please check the photos.

The silver used is very heavy gauge 925, weighing a very impressive 50 grams, they  look very strong, stylish with magnificent workmanship, simply wonderful quality.

A very nice and rare pair of Irish / Dublin solid silver ice tongs.

This pair of ice tongs are genuine Antique 218 years of age, they might show some signs of wear although this will be very light. 

These tongs have been kept in a display cabinet or somewhere very safe as the condition is immaculate.
