The DS-1 is a legendary pedal with a history of over 40 years, first introduced in 1978 as BOSS's first distortion pedal. Its sharp distortion and rich sustain are truly the origin of distortion. It has supported the feet of many legendary guitarists.

The DS-1W uses a two-stage gain circuit designed by skilled engin eers in full analog discrete form. In addition to the standard mode, which delivers the iconic distortion sound, the DS-1W features a custom mode that has been tuned to further exploit its possibilities.

The DS-1's sound character is maintained, while a distortion sound with a powerful mid-range is obtained.
