Spec Cat Type K9 - fine used, and attached to a very interesting and historic legal document regarding the Will of a Mr Charles Robert FitzGerald and his two executors Gerald Beresford FitzGerald and Gerald Augustus Robert FitzGerald.  The family of James Baron De Teissier being the benefactors upon marriage.

Gerald Augustus Robert Fitzgerald was "called to the bar" on the 1st May 1871 and subsequently became the author of "The Ballot Act"

The Ballot Act 1872 is better known as the secret ballot that allowed voting to take place without sway from outsiders and is the foundation of modern democracy.  Prior to the introduction of the Ballet Act, employers and land owners had been able to use their influence over employees and tenants to influence the vote, by overseeing or by sending representatives when the vote was being cast.

The new Act of Parliament would change British politics forever and became the cornerstone of a new and progressive Parliament.

The Ballot Act 1872 was of particular importance in Ireland as it enabled tenants to vote against the landlord classes. The principal result of the Act was seen in the British General Elections in 1840 that would mark the end of landlord supremacy in the British Parliament. 

 Gerald Beresford FitzGerald (1849-1915) - was an Irish and Victorian author and writer of many books including: The Minor Canon, Clare Strong, Clarence Strong, The Fatal Phial, An Odd Career and a Fleeting Show.

James Baron De Teissier - The Barons de Teissier - James (first Baron) de Teissier (17941868), of Woodcote Park, Epsom, Surrey, who had been created a Baron of France by King Louis XVIII of France on 4 December 1819.  The only French Baron who was English and lived in England.  The title of Baron for James Baron and all subsequent heirs was a reward for assisting the French aristocracy during the French Revolution.  A real life Scarlet Pimpernel.
