Unit powers on & boots to the BIOS but with issues noted below

Has been tested with a Windows 7 load

  • The notebook has been fully cleaned and tested (diagnostics & component)

  • BIOS flashed to the latest release (includes mod to add SLIC Table v2.1 (SYSTEM LICENSED INTERNAL CODE)

    • SLIC v2.1 allows for the installation of Dell OEM Windows 7

  • Dell E6400 Notebook Base Unit (with Palmrest)

    • Intel Core 2 Duo Dual Core CPU (2.26 GHz P8400 3MB L2 Cache)

    • 512MB DDR2 SDRAM

      • Maximum RAM is 4 GB (due to DIMM "B" being inopertative)

    • NVidia Quadro NVS 160M graphics with 256 MB dedicated video memory

    • CD-ROM Optical Drive

    • Ports:  USB 2.0 (x3), eSATA/USB, IEEE 1394 (FireWire), VGA & HD Display Port

    • CardBus Slot (PCMCIA), SmartCard Reader, & SD Card Slot

    • Communications:  Gigabit Ethernet & 56kbps FAX/Modem

    • DELL OEM Microsoft Windows 7 Professional installation DVD with all updates and system drivers

  • Problems and/or Issues Found:

    • DIMM "B" is inoperative

    • Optical Drive is missing faceplate

    • PCMCIA slot has a broken eject button (component still works)
