Back in the day, I started taking the cool full page ads for big concerts out of the Village Voice and saving them. I had a lot of them hanging in my music store, but it’s closed now, so it’s time to pass these on to someone else.

I would take the entire 4 pages that constitute 1 sheet of newsprint, so the ads are not cut or trimmed, just folded the way the newspaper was. The ads, themselves, are not folded, except for the Lenny Kravitz and John Fogerty, but more about those later.

The ads are all from 2004 or 2005, except the Black Crowes, which is from 2008. Here’s a partial list: Black Crowes, Devo, Lucinda Williams, Green Day, Rolling Stones, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Lenny Kravitz, Newport Folk Fest with The Pixies and Elvis Costello, and Yoko Ono’s 72^nd birthday message of peace, which she delivered via a full page ad in the Voice! I left out a few good ones, but they’re all like that.

The paper has yellowed with age, but most of the ads are still in good shape, and, if framed, the yellowing would not be very visible. The Devo/Lucinda Williams double back-to-back has a tiny piece missing from the upper right corner on the Devo side, and, of course, upper left on the Lucinda side, but the missing piece doesn’t include any of the ad itself, only the border of the newspaper, so again, would not be visible if framed. It’s very small. The other half of that page, however, which doen’t contain anything you’d ever want to display, does have a pretty large section of the page missing, but again, this is basically irrelevant as far as the ads go. Doesn’t effect them in the slightest. They’re all full page with the exception of Lenny Kravitz and John Fogerty, which are half pagers. I folded both of those in half to display the dominant ads, but the smaller ads on the Fogerty are from Irving Plaza, and they’re pretty cool too. And because I saved the entire 4 page foldout, there are other cool ads on the back pages of many of these. However, I must warn you, some of the back page ads are for excort services, and they do have some pretty sexually explicit photos with those. I think the escort ads are only on the backs of 1 or 2. The rest of the ads have no rips or tears, although they do have a pinhole or two, in most cases.

The pages are 11x14 and most of the ads have a ¾ inch border around them.
