This item is used for verifying magnetic field equipment such as

Gaussmeters, Tesla Meters, Magnetometers and Probes. The use of a reference magnet helps ensure

your equipment is working properly before taking magnetic field samples.

As with any

reference magnet, moving the probe across different areas of the magnet will

produce different magnetic field readings.

In order to help minimize these fluctuations, each reference magnet will

have a measurement target located at the center point to create a consistent

sampling location. This will help

provide additional confidence in your magnetic field samples and equipment.

This item has been

verified at .790kG with two separate Gaussmeters. Each reference magnet has also been checked

with both Transverse and Axial probe types for consistency.

NOTE: Since each

individual magnet will have variations in surface field readings, the one you

receive may be verified at a slightly different Gauss reading than the one

pictured in this listing. As these

variations are minor, you should expect a reference magnet within 100 Gauss of

the one shown here.

Each piece will be

independently verified prior to shipment.

The calibration labeling will reflect the actual magnetic field for the

item you receive.

Material Safety and Best

Practices: All buyers should be aware that magnets have the

potential to damage electronic equipment, display screens, other valuable items

and life saving devices such as pacemakers. Neodymium and other Rare Earth

magnets are very strong and present pinch hazards. Larger pieces of this

material have the potential to break bones while smaller sizes present a risk

for ingestion. This material should not be

left unattended, in areas where pets or people under the age of 18 have access.

Do not drill, cut or sand Neodymium Rare Earth material. These

processes can expel dust particles and chemicals which are hazardous if

inhaled. Hard impacts to this material will cause them to chip or break,

creating projectiles and/or cut hazards. Hard impacts can also

create sparks that pose a risk to flammable or ignitable materials.

Appropriate personal protective equipment and other safety gear should be

used at all times while handling magnets. Each of the safety topics and

hazards mentioned here do not provide all of the risk associated with this

material. All buyers for any of our magnetic material is responsible for

making sure they are independently informed and understand all potential

hazards before making a purchase. Each buyer accepts responsibility for

any and all damages related to people and property at the point of purchase.

Quality Assurance: All

of the magnetic material and equipment that we sell is 100% inspected for

damage prior to packaging. Unless specifically noted in the listing

description, all of our items sold as new will be

free of damage, chips and cracks. Our customers can depend on us to

Magnetic Material Information: While Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets are the

strongest in the world, they are brittle by nature and require careful

handling to prevent damage. This brittleness is true for all Neodymium Rare Earth

Magnets. Any chips, cracks or breaks

sustained to the material is solely due to mishandling of the product and has

nothing to do with product quality or defective material. A Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet that is never

handled, will never break but one that is not handled correctly will always

break. Please handle with extreme

caution! Allowing these magnets to snap together quickly or

against a ferrous object to hard will cause them to chip or break.

As a general rule, the larger the magnet, the more susceptible they

are to become damage. This is because they typically have higher pull

force values and greater mass, which causes them to contact surfaces at a

faster rate of speed and with greater force. Understand that smaller Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets also have the

potential to become damaged from hard impacts.

It is extremely important that each buyer understands how to properly

handle this type of magnetic material before purchasing in order to prevent

damage to the product. Any damage to the

material after it is received and handled will not be covered under our 30-day

return policy. This includes damage

sustained to the item while trying to separate the material after receipt. If you suspect the item has been damaged in

transit, it is important that you contact us prior to opening the package. Damage reported to us after the item has been

opened will be deemed mishandling of the product by the buyer and is not

eligible for a return, refund or exchange.

All Pull

Force ratings provided within each listing for our magnetic materials is based

solely on calculations derived from various factors such as magnet dimensions,

grade, plating type, surface conditions, etc.. The values provided are

approximations and each individual magnet could potentially vary slightly from

the estimate. We do however make every effort to provide the most

accurate information to our customers.

All buyers

should understand that Pull Force values are determined based on applying the entire magnetic material face to

a one Inch thick steel plate having perfect surface conditions.

Using a magnet on material with poor surface conditions, applying the

magnet to a ferrous surface having less than a one inch thickness or partial

magnetic face contact will result is lower Pull Force values than what is

stated in the listing. Additionally, all magnetic material will need to

have direct contact to the ferrous surface in order to exert the total Pull

Force capacity. We would also like to inform all potential buyers that

Pull Force is not the same thing as Lift Capacity. For the most part, all

Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets are rated in Pull Force. That value however

does not directly translate to a magnets' physical lifting capacity.

There are

currently no conversion tables available that provide this

information. However in our experience, we have found this value to

be around 30% of the rated Pull Force value. Meaning, a magnet with a

Pull Force rating of 30lbs can approximately lift a 10lb object,

assuming perfect conditions are present that maximize the magnetic material

properties. Again, these values and estimates are not guarantees.

All buyers should perform their own testing to validate all functionality

regarding each specific application and end use before implementation of the

material. Our intent here is only to provide general reference for

customers unfamiliar with magnetic materials.

Please

also keep in mind that air gaps between the magnet face and ferrous material

will greatly reduce Pull Force and Lift Capacity values. Air gaps

include physical air as well as any other non-ferrous material. As an

estimate, buyers can expect a loss of Pull Force and Lift Capacity at a rate of

50% per .125" inch gap present between the magnet and ferrous material.

Meaning, a magnet that has been proven capable to lift an object weighing

4lbs will only be able to lift an object weighing 2lbs when a single .125"

inch piece of wood is between the magnet and ferrous material being lifting.

Again, we do not guarantee these values and they are being provided

solely as a basis for understanding of how magnetic material functions.

Shipping: All orders are shipped

within one business day from the date of cleared payment but we make every

effort to exceed that expectation. Please understand that from time to

time the shipping carrier can

incorrectly route or misplace a package. While this is a rare

occurrence and absolutely out of our control, have confidence in buying

from us that you will receive a full refund for the item plus shipping costs in

the event your order is not delivered. For these few cases, we ask that

you file an eBay case for the purchase as "Item not received" so that

we can process the refund for you. If you would still like to have the

item, make another purchase as you did previously and your new order will be

shipped out as soon as possible. Please understand that we are not able

to outright send another shipment as a replacement for a lost package due to

inventory control reasons. In order to receive another shipment, a new

purchase of the same item will be required once a refund has been provided for

the original order. All orders will have tracking numbers available to you for

reference. This information is uploaded automatically to your

purchase history once we have started processing your order for shipment.

Returns and Refunds: Should you decide that you have mistakenly made a purchase

and wish to cancel an order, we are happy to assist you with that process. We

only ask that you please send us a cancellation request prior to the tracking

number being available for the order. Once an order has a tracking

number posted, we are no longer be able to complete the cancellation request

and the item will be shipped to your location.

We do offer a 30-day return policy for each of the items that we sell as

long as the package has not been opened.

Should you decide that you wish to return the item, please ensure that

adequate shipping methods are used to protect the package from becoming stuck

in transit. Refunds will only be

provided once the material is received at our facility and inspected for

damage. All returned items are subject

to a 20% restocking fee and buyers are responsible for paying return shipping

expenses. Additionally, the shipping

costs for the original purchase transaction will not be refunded for any

returned items. Once the returned material has been received at our facility,

we will provide a refund for the actual item cost only, minus the 20%

restocking fee. Any damage reported

or sustained

to the item after the material has been handled is not eligible for returns,

refunds or exchanges.
