DESCRIPTION

First edition, in a contemporary quarter morocco binding, with cloth boards.

Dated using Jisc, from similar copies held at the Zoological Society of London.

Written by C. Jennings.

This work is comprised of information on the eggs of British birds, displayed in a series of engravings, copied and coloured from nature, accompanied by descriptions of British birds.

Illustrated with six plates, a frontispiece and an additional engraved title page, all of which are in colour. Collated complete. Illustrations by English illustrator, engraver and lithographer, William Dickes.

With twenty pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the work.


CONDITION

In a contemporary quarter morocco binding, with cloth boards. Externally, lovely, with minor shelf wear and light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the occasional spot and age toning to the perimeters.
