Handmade Lampwork beads are made one at a time by heating a cane or rod of glass over a flame torch and then applying the molten glass around a rod called a mandrel. The bead is held over the flame while it is worked on and cooled slowly to strengthen the glass. It takes a lot of skill to keep the bead from losing its shape and the adding of other colors in swirls or flowers demands much concentration.
This rondelle is made with bright green clear glass and Swirls of pink and burgundy in random sizes and patterns around the bead. Colors of photos is good representation of the actual.
