Isaac's Farm Brand, Green and White LIMA BEANS, Quantity of 3 original can labels. These are new old stock. Never used or applied. Each measures 4 1/4" x 11". They are in good condition, but do have some minor bends or scuffs due to being handled over these many years. The white paper has darkened slightly near the edges.

Packed by John S. Isaacs, Ellendale, Delaware.

It's a very interesting label, in all white with a blue ink. Done during the World War II era, where it was important to be very resourceful with products manufactured here in the states, due to the heavy need for products and money to support the large war effort.

Some of the following information is from the "www.broadkillblogger.org" website of Phil Martin. There is an extensive history listed there of both the Isaacs' farm operation, and Mr. Isaacs. It's very interesting and informative.

These canned lima beans were sold to the military directly, under the Isaacs Farm label, 1941 – 1945. The "V" on the label and the markings denote "Victory" in Morse code. The back of lima bean can - the eagle, stars and merchant ship logo was designed by Walt Disney and presented to the U. S. government; the four stars represent FDR’s “Four Freedoms”.
Born on August 22, 1889 near Greenwood, John Sudler Isaacs attended school until the sixth grade when he began working full time on the family farm. Although Isaacs started his career as a tenant farmer, he displayed a keen entrepreneurial spirit throughout his life, acquiring more than 8,100 acres of property which he used for a number of business endeavors. As one of the state's first "agribusinessmen," Isaacs expanded his leadership of the agricultural community through his ownership of the Eagle Poultry Company and his use of innovative technologies in farming, timbering, and food processing. Isaacs died on July 29, 1950.

I'll place these 3 labels inside a plastic sleeve and add a piece of white foam board for protection while mailing inside a bubble envelope. I'll mail the same day, or next day after payment is received. I currently have 7 sets of 3 of these historic labels available. Get yours today. The look great matted and framed.
