ASTM A36 Mild Steel is the most commonly available and one of the most economical metals on the market today. The Hot Rolling manufacturing process results in a finish that is somewhat rough. The Yield strength is significantly less than that of its Cold-Rolled counterpart 1018. This will allow the material to bend much more quickly than 1018 Steel. Machinability is also a bit more difficult.
