About Artist :

Bai Bohua, a Chinese painter, was born in 1944 into a scholarly family in Beijing. Grandfather Bai Enyou was skilled in calligraphy and painting, and was a member of the Hanlin during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty. In the summer of 1965, he graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts Affiliated Secondary School of Fine Arts. In 1972, he learned from the famous figure painting master, Mr. Jiang Zhaohe, and devoted himself to studying Chinese figure painting until his death in 1986. The work is "meticulously carved and subtle" and realistic and lifelike. In the autumn of 1990, Bai Bohua went to Nagoya, Japan to hold his first solo art exhibition. In the winter of 1993, he went to Singapore to hold a personal art exhibition and published a personal art collection. In the spring of 1995, at the invitation of Sotheby's Auction in the United States, he went to Hong Kong, New York, Washington, San Francisco, and other places for art inspections. In 1998, the "Bai Bohua New Works Exhibition" was hosted by Beijing Rongbaozhai and co hosted by Beijing Wenyatang. In August 1998, he was awarded the 20th Century Achievement Award by the Cambridge International Biography Center. In March 1999, he went to Nagoya, Japan again to hold a personal art exhibition. Now he is a member of China Artists Association Beijing Branch. Participated in multiple large-scale domestic art auctions. And was included in the "List of Contemporary Chinese Painters" and "List of Contemporary Artists' Celebrities". The "Dictionary of World Celebrity Biographies" published by the International Biography Center in Cambridge, UK. Bai Bohua has always strived for excellence in his creations, meticulously carving every painting and never making it rough. This rigorous creative attitude is in line with his mentor Jiang Zhaohe. He is even very particular about the ink and paper he chooses. The ink and cinnabar used were both old ink and genuine cinnabar from the Qianlong period, which are now difficult to find; Other pigments are mostly imported products; Among the rice paper and leather paper used for painting, there are gold paper and silver paper, which have also been purchased from abroad. Therefore, the production of Bai Bohua's paintings is not high. However, he doesn't care about the number of his creations, just wants each piece to present a perfect visual effect and bring the audience a beautiful enjoyment. [2] The rigorous painting style and vivid brushstrokes have made Bai Bohua's paintings highly regarded by the collection industry, and the market auction prices have also steadily increased, gaining favor from people at home and abroad. There are six works created in different periods, including "The Statue of the Boy Guanyin" (with detailed drawings), "The Longmen Stone Kiln", "Million Treasures", "Independent East Wind Watching Peony", "No Words Hating Spring Remains", and "Daiyu Asking Chrysanthemum", which were sold at an average price of 10000 yuan per foot. The price of the work skyrocketed with skilled techniques, and the painting "Twelve Hairpins of Jinling" was bought by collectors for a high price of 495000 yuan, setting a new high for the price of his personal work.
