“ Helen Terry believed the eyes were so important to capture the light from the subject.

Her portraits are viewed by admirers from Palm Beach to the Vatican, where her portrait of Jesus, "This I do for You," is on display. The Community Methodist Church in Fort Pierce displays 39 of her biblical portraits.

She always worked in pen, ink, charcoal, pencil and pastels.

A native of Westfield, N.Y., Terry moved to Fort Pierce in 1954. She was among 10 charter members of the Fort Pierce Art Club in 1956. The club was renamed the Treasure Coast Art Association in 1989. She was honored with the St. Lucie Award by the St. Lucie County Cultural Affairs Council.”
