The set is made of black-smoked ceramics. Jezva (+-240ml) and 4 cups of coffee (110ml each) with saucers plus sugar pot and milk jar.

These are 100% handmade items so differences might occur. Please find all the detailed photos for reference. In our humble opinion this set is stunning.

This type of Ceramics are made from ecological clay by the method involving smoke. The production of in particular this type of products was started by the makers’ ancestors 60 years ago, and all the details of production were passed down from their great-grandfather to the future generation.

Coffee should be prepared on low or moderate heat and without bringing it to a boil.

In preparation, try to use the same type of coffee to preserve the originality of the taste, and also add cream or cognac to taste.

History of origin:

Black-smoked ceramics arose as an alternative to the traditions of ancient ceramics. Already at the beginning of our era, it had its centers on the territory of Ukraine and modern Europe. In Ukraine, XVIII-XIX centuries it competed with traditional irrigated ceramics.

Features of the technology:

Black ceramics are made from special clay on a potter's wheel. Then, products are smoothed with a special stone that comes from the same clay deposit; they also "write" ornaments on them. After firing, the polished surface has a dark silver color, and the unpolished surface has a black color.

In Ukraine, one of the most famous crafts of black-smoked ceramics is considered to be made in the village of Havarechchyny, in the Lviv region. Today, many fragments of black-smoked ceramics are found in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
