Antique Mahogany Single Fusee Mantel Clock With Carving And Brass Inlay.
This single fusee mantel clock has a mahogany case with a lovely rich colour and grain. The case then has a carved front, top edge. The sides of the case then have lovely shaped brass carry handles as well as the front of the case having brass inlay. Finally there is a stepped out base with a ribbed moulding as well as four thin wooden feet.
The dial is then painted and set out in black Roman numerals with a think ring of dashes marking the minutes. The centre of the dial then has remnants of a signature and “NEW CROSS” can be made out to the bottom. The dial is then finished by two shaped hands as well as a domed glass set into a brass bezel.
The movement is then a single fusee example of the upmost quality and is ticking away as it should. It comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key.
PLEASE NOTE:
There is some veneer missing in areas of the case. This could be restored quite easily or alternatively be left alone as it doesn’t really detract from the piece.
It measures approximately:
- 12.5” / 31.75cm Tall.
- 9.25” / 23.5cm Wide.
- 6” / 15cm Deep.
