Buttermere is a new range for Free Spirit Fabrics and Morris & Co. Buttermere refers to an area of the 
Lake District and is an area of outstanding natural beauty.  It was a major influence on the Arts and Crafts 
designers such as William Morris. Created by John Henry Dearle c. 1891, the original drawing for the 
"Daffodil" design can be seen at the William Morris Gallery in London. 

The Buttermere collection features many Morris designs printed at a smaller scale making them ideal for smaller 
patchwork projects such as hand paper piecing. As you can see from my other listings I am a William Morris tragic.
