Listed for auction are the autographs of noted husband and wife English actors Madge Kendal and William Hunter Kendal. Dame Madge Kendal [1848 1935] was a prominent Victorian and Edwardian era actress well known for her roles in Shakespeare and English comedies. William Hunter Kendal [1843 1917] was an English actor and theatre manager who starred with his wife Madge in Shakespearian revivals and English comedies in the 1860's and 70's. The autograph of Madge Kendal is signed on a card ''Madge Kendal'' in black fountain pen and the card measures 4.00 x 1.50 inches. The autograph of William Hunter Kendal is signed ''Faithfully yours, W.H. Kendal'' in black fountain pen. The page measures 4.25 x 2.00 inches, most likely remove from a letter and contains some addition writhing. The autographs are affixed to a card and are in very good condition. The autographs were acquired by an autograph collector named Ida Hallows during the 1890's.
