A rare antique ethnic Ethiopian African tribal Borana Gorfa woven milk jug or container with its original lid.
Handmade in Southwest Ethiopia circa the early 1900's.
With a circling band of Cowrie Shells all around, with one section between the shells that has two red Carnelian beads and two white beads.  An unusual primitive Boran collectible.

Includes an interesting antique African Ebony wood stand with three interlocked carved faces or heads and their feet at the bottom.
The basket cannot stand up on its' own and needs a stand. Or it can be displayed without the stand on it's side and the stand used for a display for a wooden or ceramic bowl or something else.

Total Height of basket on the stand is 22".
The basket alone measures approx.:
14" tall with lid (not on the stand).
8 1/2" accross.

The stand measures approx.:
14" long (unopened).
10 1/2" tall (opened).
10" across

Acquired from a Bel Air, California estate.

In very good original antique condition, no issues with the basket or the wood stand.
